Use the two previous assignments on Graffiti, and sibmit a more detailed plan of
exactly how you intend to study your cultural object. To complete the assignment
effectively, you will need to:

Most importantly add an introductory paragraph to explain how you would frame your
research, and also end a concluding paragraph to show how you would situate your
research.

0 Work from your previous assignment of topic proposal and your research
bibliography to narrow down details ofvyour topic, and to think about the ways that
other researchers have investigated it-

0 Pick one – primary or secondary research to argue a thesis

Your completed research plan should then include the following elements:

1) A review or revision of Graffiti- (In other words, summarize the topic again, Have you
narrowed your idea? Expanded it? Which one or more elements of Griswold‘s “cultural
diamond” to investigate? Have you chosen?

2) A discussion of the preliminary thesis you wish to argue.

3) A discussion of precisely how you will investigate your thesis?WllI you review the
literature and use it to support your thesis? Will you mdertake industry research to find
out more about the producer of your cultural object? If so, what will the sources of the
industry research be? Will you be conducting primary research? If so, will you be
interviewing people? Conducting surveys? Doing a content analysis of television shows
or film?
