Background: I am a social work students and assigned to a primary school for undertaking the placement. Brief description of my current placement: Working at the Elizabeth Grove Primary School, assisting some projects run out that are currently in progress and providing support among the students and the parents aim to promoting their interaction and intake with their school and build up the health development of the students easily. Poverty issue is widely discussed in Elizabeth community and there are some social problems including domestic violence, alcohol, dugs and so on (CALD families eg Non- english language families, Gain center link ). My initial task is to understand the working environments through observation the whole process in the class, working patterns and all other elements related to human service workers. Firstly, establishment of trust and rapport with the students is the first step of my work in order to discovering their potential personality in acts and master completely more regarding of their culture and family background before of conduct interview (Case management). Sometimes i am going to join some breakfast, homework club and so on (Read the Above Useful link i strongly suggested). I am also tasked with preparing some groups planning among their parents (multicultural dad group) under collaboration with the teachers. As a social worker, i need to contact these parents to be more involved in the community activities and spend more time with the child who are the students’s in primary school in order to build up their health growth. At the same time, field visit and service directory are needed to promote more interaction with the student’s parents and school and encourage their participation of the students’ activities in order to developing more concern of the students’ growth and even enhancing the intake to community in different manner.
