In this assignment, we will explore the development norms of your sample population within a family that you presented in the Topic Selection and Rationale assignment.
Conduct a brief review of national data for your selected population groups using the suggested Web sites in the Statistics & Government Resources guide from the
Capella library.
Using the research literature, describe normative behavior for your selected population by age, gender, and cultural group. Also describe nonnormative behavior or
development conflicts for your selected sample population. Which theory in human services do you align with or would work well for your selected population group?
Describe your approach in working with this family system and address the following points in your discussion:
•In what ways does your theoretical choice reflect your values, beliefs, and assumptions about the nature of human beings, psychological well-being, sources of stress
and conflict, and the process of change?
•What experiences have led you to embrace this particular theoretical approach (academic training, workshops, books, internship settings, work with specific family
population groups)?
