Nursing job satisfaction related to quality patient care. My philosophy is that true transformational leadership can foster job satisfaction and implement quality patient care.

The trans-theoretical model/stages of change theory posits that individuals engage in behavior change in stages and over a period of time. There are several constructs—stages of change, decisional balance, self-efficacy, and process of change—of which stages of change is key and includes pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, and termination (Prochaska, Velicer, 1997;). Individuals can remain at any level for an indiscriminateamount of time; depending on motivation and self-efficacy an individual will move between any level; and will achieve termination only with 100% self-efficacy and no temptation. There are many applications of this theory that explain and predict healthful behaviors such as smoking and healthy eating. The epistemological and ontological assumptions for this theory are that thereis one truth and applies to most people and relies on determination and free-will (). This aligns well with the philosophical orientation of a constructivist since truth is subjective and knowledgeis gained through interaction and life experiences.
