Order Description
Please do the question no. 3. How would you handle a patient who constantly complains about the pain?

1. Reporting and Responding (10%) this is the section where you include E.A.R (event, action, result interview method. You need to think about the scenario) relating to above question. Only explain the experience using few words and you can use the word “I” since it is reflection based on your experience.
2. Relating ( 20%)- analysing the things that are similar and different.
3. Reasoning- (20%)- 1 literature
4. Reconstructing- (30%)- if you have to focus on this section since it has 30% wighting and write more words. Explanation that you have learnt from the experience. How has your professional understanding has been reconstructed. Explain any relevant literature -2

According to the LIC this reflection is solely based on what had happened ( E.A.R) and how did you do it and what have you learned form the experiences and the growth and knowledge and experiences that yo have learned from this experiences.

R ( Event Action Result )- 10% Please refer to Marking rubric IN this section You need to explain the incident that took place while you are in a clinical placement, During my 2nd year Acute clinical placement I came across the patient who has uncontrolled pain and she rated her pain as 9/10. The nursing staff gave all the medication and still she complain it is 9/10 after. I did all the observations but all the vital signs were in normal limits. During my first year of my nursing study I learned if the patient has pain there BP goes up, sweating , tachycardia. The nursing staff told me she is ICE drug addict and kept on saying that. After that I thought this patient must be lying or manipulating without empathising. 2. Relating – times has passed and I analyse about that incident and I realised that pains is subjective and it is differ from the patient to patient. I came across a patient who complained pain 4/10 but was high threshold. ( Analysing the things are similar and different ) After that I learned more about pain assessment and realise there are many assessments I have to analyse to make sure the patient is right. I should do the neuromuscular observation to check to see any nerve damage, other pain assessments, whether that patient has got any compartment syndrome. The literature say this about pain assessment- 2 references peer reviewed these literature provide this evidences which I need to implement in my assessments 3. Reasoning 20% please refer to the marking rubric 1-2 references 4. Reconstructing 30% please use most words in this part which carry big marks. in this section include following points: # EXPLAIN THAT YOU HAVE LEARNT FROM THE EXPERIENCES # EXPLAINA ANY RELEVANT LITERATURE I would not rely on only on one assessments but use variety of assessments according to the patient need and cognitive levels This has improved my nursing clinical skills and I will utilise in my nursing practice. enchance my knowledge, experiences……..
