Lloyd is a journeyman welder at a provincial metal fabrication and assembly plant. He could be counted on in a crisis and became the go to man for emergency situations. While he has low reading and writing skills he is very apt at reading blue prints and picking up flaws in designs. He was promoted to line supervisor ahead of some workers who had been with the company longer. There were some hard feelings but the majority of the workers recognized Lloyd’s welding expertise as an asset to the department. • He has been in his new position for about 4 months and has already implemented two line changes • that have streamlined the work and resulted in cost savings for the company.
