The topic proposal should be 300 words (not including the works cited page). You should explore the content of two sources on your topic but they must represent two
opposing views and both sources must be documented in a bibliography/works cited included in your post (but it should NOT be included in the 300 word count).

For example, if you were writing on abortion one article would be Pro-choice, and the other would be Pro-life. You should not argue that one is better than the other;
rather you will report what they have to say about the issues. The sources you use should be typical of the side they represent, in other words you want to avoid
fringe articles. Try to get to the heart of the perspective on each side of the issue.

This topic proposal should not reveal your bias on the issue in any manner. In fact, if you reveal a bias you will likely have your topic rejected. Your topic may be
rejected for any of the following reasons:

It reveals your bias on the topic.
The topic is too general.
The topic is too specific.
The topic is an information-based topic.
You propose to write on abortion, religion, death penalty, or eugenics.
Your topic is not a polemical or controversial topic.
