You have to write a short research essay (1000- 1500 words) describing the theme that runs
through your program and how the films you have chosen fit together. You have to be clear about
the argument you are making through your selection of films. The theme of this research paper is
Women’s portrayal in Cinema and its efiect on our society”. You also have to select 1 0 films to
prove your argument. These can be any films you wish to use. But the only requirement is that 1 of
the film has to be from early cinema and 1 film has to be from emerging cinema. There is a
