1. First, choose a page in Chapter 10 of our textbook (yes, the next chapter): Orientation to College Learning. Read the page of text without using any marking
techniques.

2. Second, read another page from Chapter 10 and highlight as you read.

3. Third, choose yet another page from Chapter 10 and take notes as you read.

4. Describe any differences you notice in each experience.

Were you more focused when using one strategy over another? Why?
What did you find to be the most beneficial for you?
Was it easier to retain the information when you used a specific strategy?

5. How do you think you could improve your comprehension of material through using the Tips for Organizing Text Information (in our Unit 9 texbook chapter)?

6. Choose three of the tips that you believe will help you and explain why/how these will benefit you.
