Another strategy would be to focus on something you found thought-provoking. For example, “the author discusses the difficulty of clearly defining religious concepts in Japan, such as the separation between politics and religious belief, which made me think about the blurry boundaries between religion and politics in the U.S. as well.” Then talk about that connection and why you find that interesting and relevant to the course.
