Chapter 6 where DeBecker sets forth the “Elements of Prediction.” Please consider the following case scenario and utilize the elements of prediction to ASK THE QUESTIONS necessary to decide if there is a danger to the staff. You of course do not have anyone to actually ask, so POSE THE QUESTIONS FOR EACH ELEMENT (11) necessary to get to the information you need. Write up your EVALUATION in your Word doc.
Case Scenario: It is a cool evening in the fall and a couple approaches the triage area of the emergency room. The woman is in her later thirties and appears groggy and the man is very abrupt asking the staff to “move quickly and get her seen.” The triage nurse arrives and takes her into the office, but the man demands he go with her. He helps answer questions about what happened, but the woman says little. The man paces next to the nurse as she types.
