When I was in my primary school, I lived in my cousin’s house. Every day after school, I sat on the chair beside him and watch him programming on the computer. Since then, the dream of becoming an
excellent computer programmer has rooted deeply in my mind.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison would be an optimal choice for me, a girl determined to dedicate to Computer Science. Computer Science in Wisconsin-Madison enjoys a high reputation and fame.
The major aside, what really hooks me is the multidisciplinary courses and research. In Wisconsin-Madison, the major of Computer Science belongs to the College of Letters and Science—I think it
is a wise decision. Some people think that students only need to spare time on their majors. In my high school, I constantly heard some schoolmates grudging about how ridiculous it is to study
certain subjects seemingly irrelevant to their future major, but my opinion differs. I hold a strong belief that there are no certain limits on different subjects. Every major is interrelated and
intertwined with each other. Dabbling in a new major can offer me a different perspective when studying my own field. Some interdisciplinary courses like the Computation and Informatics in Biology
and Medicine would suit me well.
Recently I saw a ranking concerning American Party Schools. On the top lies the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I love exotic ambience and conventions. In fact, the one main reason that I choose
to study abroad is because I want to experience different cultures. As a result, the Freakfest in Wisconsin-Madison catches my eyes. In China, Halloween is a totally foreign festivals and we could
only see it in TV series or Hollywood movies. It would be great fun to suit myself in a clown custom and celebrate on the street. Besides, what is more alluring than toffee apples and pumpkin pies?
