The purpose of this assignment is to understand the unique perspectives of people who are experiencing or have experienced pain. The student will interview 3 persons of their own choosing who
have/are experiencing pain in different ways. Students will interview one person with chronic pain, one person who experienced acute pain and one person who is anticipating experiencing pain. They
will also consider their own personal values and beliefs about pain. So 4 interviews are to be conducted:
1. Chronic Pain patient 2. Acute Pain patient 3. Anticipating pain patient 4. Your own experience of pain
The people you interview are not to be patients in the hospital setting (in your clinical setting) unless you explain the nature of the interview to them and seek approval from the instructor of
this course as well as your clinical course. You should interview people from your friends, family, etc for this assignment. All information is to be kept confidential. I do not want to know the
patients real name please use their initials in this assignment, If you choose a patient from the hospital them you should not include information like their unit number, date of birth, etc. The
purpose of this assignment is to learn about pain not disclose patient information.
This assignment will be completed using APA formatting. References must be provided where necessary. A turnitin report is required for this paper. Failure to submit a turnitin originality report
will result in a 10% deduction in your grade and your paper will not be marked until the report is received. The student will create one of the three options listed below as the assignment:
I paper discussing the pain perspectives of each of the 4 individuals. This paper should include an introduction, conclusion and headings. II. Concept Map: 1 for each individual interviewed III.
Poster: One Al poster describing all 4 interviews as well as explanation of the poster in APA formatting.
