Tumblr – Case Study Chapter – Analysis

Order Description
I have to do a case study about three 3 tumblr images/posts. I have to carry out in-depth analysis. I will send you the three images, including the methodology overview brief. I have to do a SEMIOTICS ANALYSIS and Discourse analysis of the three posts. I have to talk about what semiotic analysis is and discourse analysis. Talk about BARTHES and PEIRCE and SAUSSUR. And analyse each image accordingly. Link them to the readings.

Remember that semiotics are opened to different interpretations and readings.

This is a case study of analysing images and readings. So talk briefly about semiotic analysis and barthes and peirce’s theory and add some quotes too. Then start analysis each picture and link to the theories.

Also refer to the book Analysis Media Texts by Marie Gillespie and Jason Toynbee.

Refer always to decoding it back to the theory and backing up your interpretations. DO NOT STICK TO ONE INTERPRETATION, discuss different ones as semiotics mean more than one reading. Talk about colour, effects, thoughts etc.
