Nursing I class. I uploaded my class syllabus just to get information of this class. I would like to give you my background information. I am originally from Burma. I immigrated to United States in 2009 with my sister. I lived in San Francisco, California for five years and then transfer to Marshall University. My dad is a retired medical doctor and my mom is a nurse. My second sister is also a medical doctor in my country. I want to be a nurse since I was young. I have been inspired by my parents. Becoming a nurse is my biggest dream that I ever have. I volunteered at California Pacific Medical Center St Luke’s campus for over two years. I got a chance to volunteered at Skilled Nursing Unit. My volunteer experience turned out to be an incredible learning experience for me. Never have I worked so closely with patients who came from all walks of life: rich, poor, friendly, irritable, etc. My job as a volunteer was go to every patient’s room say hi to them, chat with them, offer a newspaper, check if they need help with anything, and bring some items requested by parents. I learned to be more kind when I interact with the patients. Also, I learned a lot how people live by the ways they get hurt or how they deal with being sick.
