Order Description
There are two (2) elements to the Short Essay Assessment; see below.
SHORT ESSAY ELEMENT 1: PLAN
Word count: 100-150 Words (no leeway)
Submission:
• The Plan MUST be completed no later than Week 4.
• You do not submit the Plan in Week 4.
• The Plan and Essay are to be submitted together as one document on
or before 11:59pm, Monday, 22 August 2016.
Points you MUST address:
• The Marking Rubric when researching – what does the CRITERIA ask you to do?
• Issues/Key Points that you will be discussing in the Essay itself (according to the CRITERIA).
• Any areas that you are finding challenging i.e. the research/referencing component.
• Any deadlines that you have put in place for yourself i.e. you aim to have the first draft of the essay finalised by week 4.
Further Information:
• The Plan is worth 2 marks.
• If a student requests an extension of time, they MUST submit their Plan with the request. If no plan is provided, then the request will be automatically refused.
ELEMENT 2: ESSAY
Word Count: 1350 words excluding citations, quotations, footnotes and
bibliography (10% leeway).

Research Guidelines:
• You are expected to conduct your own research on the topic. There is no limit as to the number of resources that can be used but all material must be sufficiently and correctly referenced.
• The textbook is not to be used as a reference.
• A bibliography must be provided.
