Topic: fat Academic Essay

Order Description
In preparing your essay, please note carefully the following requirements:

– The upper word limit for the essay is 2500 words
– Make sure that you follow the guidelines for referencing. Do not copy any material, unless you put it into inverted commas and reference the source in the proper way (see the link on the essay assignment handout that contained the title of the essay and its due date, and the relevant sections of the Student Handbook).
Failure to meet these requirements can result in penalties, which can be severe in the case of a proven malpractice.
These are basic rules and the best approach is to make sure that you meet them.

Dear Student
These guidelines are designed to help guide your thinking and preparation for the FIRM essay assignment.
The course reading and discussion material around this essay topic can be found in
– Study Guide Unit 2 Sections 7 (especially) and 12 (Since Basel 3 introduced new liquidity rules as well as capital adequacy ones)
– You should also read the two Ernst and Young surveys referenced at the end of the Panopto 1 lecture (as well as in Webex 1), since they discuss how banks are tackling liquidity risk and its planning in the new, Basel 3 world.
– Note also that FTP (Funds Transfer Pricing) systems are an important part of liquidity planning and management (and will be discussed in Panopto 2)
– I will also be discussing liquidity in Webex 2 and Panopto 4 (largely from a Basel 3 perspective).
Your Study Guide (above) and the respective textbook readings are the main background readings, supplemented by the two Ernst Young surveys (Panopto 1 references) and other, similar material that you can search for on the web.
BUT, PLEASE NOTE – you will not find any neat solution to this essay (especially the second part) in any of these readings . This is an MBA programme and you are expected to interpret, apply and evaluate all the material you study and use in a practical context – using your experience, judgement and the practical experiences of your bank (and/or any banks you know about) and country.
