This painting interest me since it was introduced to me by my father David V. Gonzales. I was fascinated by the painting when it was in the news back 2006. I never heard of the artist Gustav Klimt until I read about the stolen painting of The Lady in Gold.  My father was a historian and he always read about any history of WWII since we had family on my father side who fought in WWII. When I brought about this story to my father he was thrilled and it was something we both relate too. You see my father grew up during the time of the civil right movement. He reminded me how he was beaten at a young boy just for going to bathroom. But that is another story. As I mentioned my father was a historian and he bought a book called “Lost Lives, Lost Art:Jewish Collectors, Nazi Art Theft, and the Quest for Justice  by Melissa Muller and Monika Tazkow for both of us to read.  It was another wonderful memory of my father and another history lesson on how people fought injustice in this world.
