Order Description
Investigate the stoichiometry and pH stability of iron complexes with potential therapeutic effects and their chemical significance. The potential therapeutic iron chelators maltol, kojic acid,
2,3-dihydroxypyridine and current iron chelator deferiprone will be investigated. Another aim is to investigate the use of these potential iron chelators as a form of therapy with the use of a
solid support medium in the form of silica gel and assess its stability under various pHs.
