Symbolism of the Freak Show

Order Description
Compose an essay in which you explore the symbolism of the freak show in Beloved, “Petrified Man,” and “Keela, the Outcast Indian Maiden.” For this essay you will need to provide a historical context for the carnival.

Point of view: third person (no “I,” etc.)
Length: minimum 2100 words (plus a Works Cited)
Presentation: MLA style, 12-point font (Times New Roman preferred)
Secondary sources: three minimum, preferably either peer-reviewed journals and/or books, whether in part or whole. At least one of these must be a historical source. Each secondary source should be quoted or paraphrased at least once within the essay.
The primary source(s) should be quoted extensively in the essay.
Please note that you must turn in a regular Works Cited with this assignment in addition to the annotated bibliography.
an annotated bibliography (descriptions for how each source is used) and a works cited. This is not included in the 2200 word count. I will attach 5 sources that I was planning on using, but you your own discretion if you want to use other sources. Please note that there needs to be a historical source.
