2. Write a paper: The paper is to be three pages, double spaced and is to contain the following four parts:

a. 1/3 to ½ to page summary of the article

b. A list of the topics covered in this class that appear in the article which shouldn’t be more than one to four lines of text.

Topics chosen are: Supply, Demand, Capital, and Consumer Surplus.

c. An analysis of the article. This may include

i. a discussion of whether the story agrees with what you have learned about micro-economics in this class and in what respects,

ii. a more in depth description of the writer’s point (note: more in depth than the original article, not just more in depth than your summary),

iii. A discussion of how a law, government decree, industry practice (accounting rule, for example) affects the economic outcomes in the article,

iv. Some other analysis.

d. A conclusion of one to three sentences The paper must be organized in these four sections and the title of each section be, or at least include, the words “Summary,” “Micro-economic Topics,” either “Analysis” or “Discussion,” and “Conclusion.” If your paper doesn’t conform to these criteria, you will receive a zero on this paper.
