Students should approach this assignment with a consultants mind-set. You have been commissioned as an independent consultant. You will be asked to evaluate the strategic performance of one hospitality company such as Four Seasons Hotels (ideally it is a company which is listed on a stock exchange).
Each student will need to prepare a professional article (not an academic essay) which critically evaluates the sources of competitive advantage of this company, as well as assesses its performance to date, both strategically and financially. Additionally, you would need to identify the competitive 5 advantages of the business and its unique selling points. Please understand that the investor (client) ultimately wants to know the strategic intent and operational performance of your chosen company, and whether they should invest in this company or not
