Skills Gap in the administration of the Malta Football Association (MFA)
Order Description
The management report is a student’s piece of individual work which reflects an ability to present a critical report in management. The report should between 6,500 and 7000 words long. Students are required to base their report on a local performance-oriented organisation. This organization could be their place of work. Please refrain from choosing an organisation on which you conducted similar research during the course. The report presented has to be management oriented. It should clearly show an application of the management concepts and frameworks learnt during the course.The success of an organisation depends on how well it audits the skills of its employees.
Contemporary organisations perform an in-depth ‘skills-gap’ analysis in order to ensure that they can meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges with success. Choose an organisation which has a substantial number of employees and write a management report on the above statement.
Your research should answer the following questions:
(i)Which factors in general influence the performance of an organisation?
(ii)In what manner are the skills of employees critical for operational success?
(iii)What is the skills gap in the organisation?
(iv)What approach is the organisation taking in order to decrease their skills gap?
(v)What challenges is the organisation facing to fill and sustain its skills gap?
You need to identify an organisation that can feasibly reveal the data required.
Think of ‘feasibility’. Many proposals are initially over- ambitious. They are often very wide-ranging in their focus and this could present significant problems when collecting primary data. The best reports are those where: • The organization and its context is of particular interest to you. You can easily collect information – the information is readily available, or you can collect and analyse it easily, and within a short time period. OK, now you have chosen your organisation/s. Next step is the preparation of a proposal (pdf available on VLE). What is the name of your chosen organization? You need to ask yourself “will I be able to achieve my aim”? Will you be able to get access to information that can lead to achieving your aim. If in the negative, then you might need to choose another organization. Don’t forget, this is a small scale research project, so you should aim to collect and analyse manageable data. FINAL Submission of Management Report 4th May 2016.
N.B. Kindly note that I will carry out an interview with the CEO of the Malta football association with regards to the subject and as part of this work. Eventually I will insert the documented interview myself in a Chapter adhoc.
As such I prefer that the work I will be forwarded from your end is divided into Chapters please.
