What was the conflict in solving America’s social problems and was it possible to address the myriad of social ills in America at the turn of the 19th and 20th century without addressing the the heart, or root cause, of those social ills? Who were the people who attempted to address the social ills of the American working class? What means did they use? What were they and their movement called?
