Reliability Academic Essay

Week 2

Order Description
Part 1:Reliability

Review and discuss one article from the UoR Library on the reliability of a classroom, program or institutional assessment/instrument of your choice. Some possible instruments may include the ACT – COMP (College Outcome Measures Program), the GRE (Graduate Record Examinations), Major Field Achievements Tests, Course Evaluation Questionnaires, Alumni Surveys, etc. Other possible institutional instruments can be found at the following website: https://web.stanford.edu/group/ncpi/unspecified/assessment_states/instruments.html
Describe the various types of test reliability (e.g. test-retest, parallel forms, etc.) and discuss how reliability was measured for your selected instrument. What does the reliability coefficient say about the instrument?

Part 2: Validation of Tests

Using the instrument you selected in Discussion 1 (or a new one if you choose), select one or more articles from the UoR Library on the validation of that instrument. If the instrument has not been validated, such as with course evaluations, find an article discussing how validity can be established. Discuss how the instrument was validated, as well as the various types of test validation and how validation relates to generalizability of scores.
