Journal review article on the pharmacological treatment of epilepsy. You are required to provide an in-depth examination of the topic using the criteria below, and must use primary literature (not textbooks or wikis) to form the basis of your assignment. The primary goal of these assignments is to provide an overview of a disorder/condition that covers the treatment options and considerations of treatment, mechanism of action of treatment drugs, drug side-effects (minor focus on aetiology, epidemiology (wherever possible you need to use Australian statistics), genetics (where applicable), pathophysiology, diagnosis and symptoms).
Title should be brief and snappy (150 characters maximum, including spaces). Below it, please provide a ?short running title? for use as page header (50 characters maximum, including spaces). Finish with the name, address and email of the author for correspondence. Nothing else should appear on the title page.
Summary to be arranged as a single paragraph. Must not exceed 250 words. Should start with the context, summarise the content and end with a strong statement to be followed by keywords (10 maximum) then to be followed by all non-standard abbreviations used in the paper.
Use headers (typed in italics) to break up the review into a sequence of small sections, approximately 400-1000 words long. It is desirable to begin with an introductory section (this need not necessarily be entitled Introduction) that contains concise statements about the context, issues and the aims of the review. Please don?t number the sections or use subsections.
The three topics that I was hoping to discuss were the ketogenic diet (explain the mechanism to make it pharmacologically relevant), cannabidiol and valproic acid.
