Task 1 asks you to draft an email – I would use a format that you are familiar with from your own office or use the email template from the case study activity in week 1 ‘Prepare for a meeting’.

Task 1 deals with whole life costing and making a decision between floor finishes. This requires a comparison of their life cycle costs. You could approach this by following the examples in study paper 10525 Life Cycle Costing, from week 3, eg examples 5 and 6.

Critical appraisal usually requires an essay format and asks you to consider and discuss the pros and cons of a process or the advantages and disadvantages etc. It requires more than just a statement of facts so you will need to form an opinion based on your research and come up with solutions to a problem, recommend action and so on.
