Order Description

This is a single assessment requiring:

– An evaluation of a recent large-scale project assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the ‘front-end’ planning process
– Taking account of exogenous (external) and endogenous (internal) factors to demonstrate complexity in project development processes
– Identifying the relationships of key stakeholders including the planning authority in the development project
– Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the management and including the role played by the planning authorities
– An evaluation of project governance mechanisms of the specific project
– A demonstration of the understanding and application of financial appraisal method(s) in development valuation including the estimation of the residual value of the site in question

The report format should be as follows:

6.References Appendices

The main body of the report should start by briefly describing the chosen project (The Building of Shard (London)).

The assessment should cover the following aspects:
•identify the interests of the project stakeholders
•assess the opportunity which the project addresses and the development site
•assess the risk factors internal and external to the project
•assess the institutional and regulatory issues
•assess the strategic and local impact dimensions of the project
•evaluate the cost/benefit of the project
•apply knowledge and demonstrate appreciation of financial valuation of development projects
•review the efficiency and effectiveness of the ‘front-end’ development process by which has been brought forward
•Make recommendations about how the ‘front-end’ development process could or should be improved.

The main report should be supported by appendices to as great an extent as is necessary to give credibility to the analysis.

The number of references is not specific, it may be more or less, also internet sources, books or articles may accept for this project.
