(35 points) Big box retailers and traditional booksellers have a tremendous size advantage over local/independent booksellers. And yet local/independent booksellers manage to be prosperous (relatively speaking!) despite this seeming disadvantage. Employ a population ecology perspective to explain what the properties of the social space of bookselling are that make it possible for local/independent booksellers to survive when big box retailers command the bulk of the market.
