differ from that for domestic performance?
1b. Based on the ideas above, compare and contrast these two pieces (Caccini’s Sfogava con le stelle and Fillide mia). What are the particular characteristics of their texts? Why are these
characteristics important? How do music and text relate in both pieces? Which features of are particularly “new”? Which features are “old”?
