Presenting an abstract for a nursing conference

INSTRUCTIONS:
-pls be mindful of the word limit esp with the title.. only 10 to 12 words nothing more and nothing less.
-PLS USE PEER REVIEWED RESEARCH PAPERS and CURRENT (Australian if can) and relevant to NURSING

MAIN TOPIC: – Critical Nursing Care (pick one):
a.    Shock and Sepis (Critical nursing care)
b.    Burns (critical nursing care)
c.    Spinal Injury (critical nursing care)

notes:
Title: -no more than 12 words in title.
-try and make the title catchy to capture the reader’s attention.

Overview:Your overview should outline the progression of your presentation. It is purely a brief overview of what you are going to discuss and in what order.

Research Question: -peer reviewed, specific and clearly stated and defined.

Background: -Need an argument as to why the research question is important to patient care.
– highlight significance to nursing practice
– use supportive literature
-use evidence from evidenced based journals.
-use five research articles for background.  (research articles must relevant to the question)

Aims and Objectives:
-2objectives with short rationales
-statement outlining purpose of the research
-rationale for undertaking the research topic

Search strategy:
-Description of your search strategy (clear and concise)
-include appropriate search terms used.
-include appropriate databases and sources used.
-identify the study designs that you have included.

Findings (from the review of literature): findings in a way that reflects or answer your research question.
Recommendation:(evidenced based)Recommendations for nursing clinical practice, research and education.
