Young Kids, Old Bodies” is an article that referenced many physiological issues obese children may experience that are associated with the premature aging process. The consequences of the medical conditions are likely to put the children at risk of dying way before a reasonable age. Fatty Liver Disease is a disease that is the most common liver issue suffered by children around the world. This disease is not due to alcohol excess, even thoughthe effects on their liver appear to be from the results of drinking heavily. These children with this disease can develop cirrhosis which will prevent proper filtering to take place in the body. Type I Diabetes is referred to as Juvenile Diabetes and Type II Diabetes is referredto as Adult Onset Diabetes. It used to be known that children who suffer this disease suffer Type I. However, based on the increased weight of children, the majority are being diagnosed with Type II. Type II can be controlled with diet and exercise. The article references that parents may get excited about diet and exercise plans but their excitement often only lasts for a day or two. This disease needs daily focus beyond just a couple of days. If not properly treated. The kids then become at risk for all of the implications of this disease such as neuropathy, kidney issues, and heart disease.Accelerated cellular aging at the molecular level are starting to be found in children. Some of the fat cells are known to protect the body, but others send out chemicals and protein-shredding enzymes. These chemicals can be toxic to other cells and often result in damage to the cells that age the body prematurely.Listed above are three physiological issues children may experience if they become over weight and don’t try and get under control. Children are likely to experience premature aging because of these issues. These could all cause children dying at an earlier age than average.
