Physics Report Academic Essay

GROUP REPORT:
Group reports should include:
•  2 sets of data: one for the distance vs. time dropped objects (along with absolute error),
and one for the mini-basketball (along with absolute error and standard deviation).
•  Include captions along with this data that describes how each measurement was made.
INDIVIDUAL REPORT ANALYSIS:
Analysis should be made both from the distance vs. time data, as well as the mini- basketball. For the latter be sure to discuss the Δ% error as well as the standard deviation.
• Do these values suggest systematic error?
• For the distance vs. time data that has no standard deviation, you must analyze
your data directly.
• Do your values for g fluctuate wildly, or are they relatively consistent?
• Which values fluctuated most and why?
• Would you conclude that systematic error is present in this data set?
EXPANSION:
•  How sensitive is the measurement of time in this experiment?
•  How large will the deviations in your calculation of g be if your measurement for time is
off by a mere tenth of a second?
