we need social theory in order to understand social media. Based on this chapter, define and explain social media by using the theories or concepts proposed by Durkheim, Weber, Marx and Tönnies. Do
you agree with Fuchs’ arguments? Why or why not?
3) Your use of the Internet, including your activities in social media sites and apps, is compiled into a profile used by
advertisers and marketers to target their messages. Consider what your digital profile would consist of. How well do you think your online use represents who you are? What are your feelings about
having messages targeted to you based on your online behavior?
