Logical Persuasion: Argumentation

Write a 1000 – 1500 word persuasive essay using logical argument to express and support your position on a controversial issue about which reasonable, intelligent, well-meaning people might disagree. A minimum of four sources is required. Academic sources are preferred. USE MLA FORMAT.

Evaluation Criteria:
Devise a title for your essay.
Introduction:
The essay’s introduction will be evaluated according to how well it a) describes the issue
b) indicates the intended audience
c) ASSERTS A CLEAR, CONCISE THESIS (underline thesis)

Body:
The essay’s body will be evaluated according to how effectively it
a) provides a convincing, persuasive argument (reasons and evidence)
b) acknowledges counter arguments (opposing views, cons, objections) and refutes/rebuts the counter arguments
c) uses rhetorical strategies to persuade
d) employs, integrates and documents sources using MLA format.

*A minimum of four sources is required. Academic sources are preferred. For any non-academic source used, a source assessment must be provided.

Grammar and style:
Correct grammar and a clear, CONCISE style are expected.

Topic:
-Is genetically modifying foods a good idea? Why or why not?
* You can argue for or against the topic, but still need to acknowledge counter arguments in body paragraphs.
