KILL APPLICATION PRESENTATION Dissertation Essay Help

KILL APPLICATION PRESENTATION (Presentation 2)
DETAILED ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Assignment Description and Requirements:
You will design and deliver a LIVE 3-4 minute presentation describing the most useful interpersonal communication skill or concept you’ve learned in this class and explaining how you have used it. This is a “capstone” presentation, meant to summarize the most important thing you have learned and how your communication has changed from taking this course.

This is NOT the same as the research presentation since the presentation is not based on a research article. However, you still need an outside source as a form of support. Please include at least one outside source cited in APA format, cited in your outline and cited verbally according to the guidelines for written and oral APA citation. You may use more than one source, but at least one source must be a research article from a peer-reviewed journal. Please see the detailed grading rubric on the next pages and adhere to the assignment expectations to achieve the grade you desire.

Make sure to follow all of the presentational speaking guidelines detailed in our course readings to demonstrate your application of what you’ve learned about how to design and deliver professional presentations on social science topics.

Each student receives a grade on his or her presentation, and a grade for completing each of the two required peer evaluations. Please see the due date/time listed in this syllabus. No late assignments are accepted under any condition other than a medical emergency verified by a hard copy of a doctor’s letter and phone call.

Assignment Objectives:
This assignment is intended to:
Help you determine what you’ve taken away from this course and how you will use it,
help you learn to organize ideas and articulate information in a coherent and succinct way, and
develop your delivery skills for professional/academic presentations.

1. Select a specific concept or topic from the course that has changed the way you communicate or think.
2. Design your presentation according to the presentation outline on the following page. Please read the outline before proceeding with these instructions.
3. Using the SBCC library database, find at least one outside source that will help you define and elaborate on the topic.
4. Apply all of the skills you’ve learned in Appendix B for excellent presentation delivery!
5. Record and upload to YouTube a practice presentation. Please pay special attention to the following guidelines when completing your recorded practice presentation:

This presentation doe NOT require visual aids. Please focus on your delivery skills instead of getting distracted with visual aids/technology.
Situate yourself indoors, in front of a plain background/wall. Avoid speaking in an area where there is clutter or personal items behind you.
Make sure the camera is at so you are speaking directly to your audience, not looking down or up at them.
Stand while speaking, and make sure the upper half of your body is visible. Do not sit in front of the camera, as this will appear like a Skype call, not a presentation.
Use speaking notes, but do NOT read from a pre-planned script. See the “extemporaneous speaking style” in Appendix B.
6. Post your presentation outline (bullet-pointed outline, not an essay or script) and the link to your practice presentation in the designated forum where other students will reply with a peer evaluation of the speech using the presentational speaking grading rubric.
7. Read your peer’s comments and improve your speech accordingly.
**ONLINE STUDENTS: After viewing your peer’s feedback, post your final OUTLINE in the designated forum before delivering your presentation live online. You will not receive credit if your outline is not posted BEFORE you speak since I use it to grade you while you speak.
