Analytic Essay. You need to write a five-page analytic essay on a specific issue in delinquency and its social control. In your essay, you may follow Shaw and his model in Substance Use and Abuse: Sociological Perspectives. Specifically, you need to (a) choose a specific type of delinquency or delinquent behavior; (b) choose a sociological perspective; (c) review current literature pertaining to your chosen delinquency as well as your chosen perspective; (d) identify and explain major theoretical components; and (e) explore and discuss policy implications.
