or intent of scriptural ethics? Be sure to highlight points from the readings that seem to conflict with each other, and explain how each point of view could be seen as legitimate.

2. How did the scriptural sources lead Muslims to different methods of trying to understand God’s ethical directions for them? Pick either law, theology, or Sufism and show how the scriptures were
used in them to identify ethical issues and to provide guidance for their resolution.
