We will be creating and playing games on a field this semester, so this assignment is to have each of you get down some game concepts for consideration.This weekâs assignment will build on my talk in class explaining four creative strategies âfluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. You will be creating a new game that can be played on a grassy field by employing these strategies in four steps. Each step will focus on one of these four strategies, and together they will help you craft a unique and fun game
This field game has constraints: Often, when searching for a solution to a problem or inventing something new, there will be constraints surrounding the resources one has at their disposal. Resources can be anything, such as people, money and materials. I have added in two resource-related constraints you must adhere to when dreaming up your game:
You must create your field game using ONLY items one would find in a OFFICE and a GARAGE.
Your game must include at least one office item
Your game must include at least one garage item
Your game may not employ anything you would not find in an office or a garage. Nothing at allâ¦no eggs, no shower curtainsâ¦you get it. That said, there are lots of things that could potentially fit into these two household areas!
NOTE: Think of elements that can be brought onto a field. Can you carry it? ALSO, create your game using objects that will not injure students. Hedge clippers? Maybe not.
