You will create an instructional tool/resource to be used in a training/teaching environment. Well-designed tools will make your courses more enjoyable and increase learner retention. Your learners will be delighted at how much fun learning can be.
Instructional materials should relate directly to the purpose(s) and objective(s) of the lesson; extend content or provide for remediation, reinforcement or enrichment. They should be appropriate to student differences such as ability, achievement, interests, and learning styles.
These tools/resources are used to support and enhance learning. They can be an exercise, games, comprehensive resources such as guides, a collection of activities on mutiple subjects or situations, media, film, recordings, handouts, study guides, visual media, workbooks for follow up activities. What do you have in your educational tool box?
Be sure to tell me how you would use the tool and in what environment specially. You are to create the tool. You can mail it, scan it, fax it, or send pics of it.
There is a lot of flexibility with this assignment. I encourage you to be very creative (for example, no PP slides). You can design a game, puzzle, hands-on prototype, etc. to present, apply, or review content.
You should submit a cover page and a paragraph explaining the training workshop or classroom topic in which you would use your tool/resource (using the digital dropbox).
I am providing you with examples and you MAY NOT use these examples for your work. I do not want to see any work that resembles these examples or you will receive a zero grade.
Below is an example of things I am looking for when grading.
Tool
•Does the tool/resource have a purpose and objectives that could be used for an instructional lesson?
•Does the tool reinforce or enrich the contents lesson?
Creation of the Tool/Resource
•Was the tool physically created by the student?
•Were all materials found?
Paragraph
•Did the student create at least a paragraph explaining the training workshop or classroom topic in which you would use
your tool/resource …. Be sure to tell me how you would use the tool and in what environment specifically.
