Outcome 3
Candidates should write one short essay of approximately 1000 words which describes the purpose and variety of approaches of one of the following:
♦ Youth work
♦ Adult learning
♦ Community development
They should also identify approaches to establishing engagement with communities.

1(a) identifies a range of styles and approaches and discuss the purpose of working with one of the following:
♦ Young people
♦ Adult learners
♦ Community development
1(b) Identifies and describe the processes a community practitioner could use to establish engagement with a community/community group.
1(c) Identifies features that underpin practice

Include 2 quotes supporting discussion.
Look at range of styles and approaches show how it is diverse.
Make sure everything is Cited using the Harvard method along with the Bibliography.
Outcome 4
Candidates should write an extended response of approximately 650 words, which will identify the key features of two local or national policies, which relate to practice in community learning and development. Candidates should also explain how these policies influence practice and priorities in community learning and development settings.

Social Inclusion
Community Capacity Building
Lifelong Learning
Community Planning
Adult Literacies
Youth Strategies
Health Improvement
Volunteering.
Candidates could discuss issues generally, focus on a particularly locality or discuss the impact of the policies on their individual work/placement policies and practices.
Identify the key points of two local or national policies.
For each policy consideration should be given to:
The historical context – Priorities – Targets – Timescales – Progress – Links to other Policies.
Explain the influence of policy on practice (with current practice examples). Consideration could be given to the impact on:
Voluntary/Statutory Sector – Short-term Projects – Community Planning Partnerships
Priorities – Funding – Employment Opportunities.
