Write a lab report summarizing your findings from the Genomics/Sequence Analysis Lab. Please use the following format:

Abstract
A summary of the steps you took to analyze the KRAS gene.

Introduction
Write a paragraph about the KRAS oncogene, including its molecular function and its role in cancer. Please be sure to use your own words, and not copy from the lab instructions. Consult other papers and articles to write your introduction. Please cite your sources.

Materials and methods
A brief description of the analyses performed, and what software was used to do it. (For example, if you had analyzed the promoter sequence of a gene to find transcription factor binding sites, you might say something like “Transcription factor binding sites were identified within the promoter of [gene] using the TRANSFAC online database. The search parameters were set to “stringent.”)

Results and Figures
For each analysis performed, briefly describe your findings (you can use the answers to the questions in the lab (KRas Lab PDF) to guide your writing here). Where appropriate, you might consider including a table with genes, or a screen capture of a particularly interesting alignment or protein structure as figures. Remember to call out your figures in the text, and to label them.

Conclusion
In a paragraph, summarize what you learned from the sequence analysis of KRAS in cancer.

References must be appropriately cited with a References section at the end if used.
