Analyzing Gender Around Us (25% of final Grade): The goal of this paper (6 to 8 pages double spaced) is to apply your sociological perspective on gender to the world
around us using your sociological research skills. In this paper, you should explore how roles of males and females are differentiated, created, and maintained by
society, and the consequences these gender roles have for men and women in society. You MUST substantially incorporate class readings, concepts and lecture. 1) Write
in essay format with an introduction paragraph, a body of the paper comprised of multiple paragraphs, and conclusion paragraph. You are not allowed to use direct
quotes in any paper for this class. I want you to put the readings and findings into your own words. This means you are paraphrasing the work from the course, which
means you must cite the material you draw from. If you do discuss other published non-class material (paraphrasing), you must cite it and include an ASA- or APA-format
