This assignment consists on doing a draft research paper. It must include a literature review, a case of study, and an analysis of the chosen case. You have freedom to
choose the case and topic, the only restriction is that it has to be within the realm of strategic communication by political actors. This might include the media as
long as the actor under study is not the media. Ideally, you have worked on this assignment in your first two essays and have some feedback. It is good practice to
have ok’d with me your title ahead of time.
Suggested format:
1. Introduction: Explain what (the goal), how (the method) and why (relevance) you write this paper. Explicitly state the case study, your angle of approach and give
the reader a brief overview of how this study broadens our understanding of political communication.
2. Literature review: Here you would cite various studies relating to your chosen topic.
3. Analytical framework (derived from the literature that you reviewed)
4. Case study: Here you describe the case and carry out your analysis.
5. Conclusions: Be innovative, bring all the pieces of your study together and leave the reader with an impression that your work was thorough.
