Analyze the impact of media on children’s development. Watch approximately 30 minutes of a television program geared toward children aged 0-8 years. As you observe, note what children might learn in terms of:

Who are the heroes? (gender, ethnicity, race?)
What are they valued for? (strength, kindness, intelligence, creativity, physical beauty, aggression, sharing…etc?)
How often do you see violent behaviors? What type of violent behavior?
How often do you see collaborative and supportive behavior among the actors?
How are minorities portrayed?
What impact do you think the program would have on a child in early childhood and in middle childhood
