This Technical Paper/Literature Review is a final requirement for Graduate school in order to complete the Master’s program. The topic I have chosen is ‘Diseases Affecting the Population Decline of Green Sea Turtles (Chelonia mydas) in the Pacific and Atlantic Regions.’ The disease processes in this paper will be Coccidian Infections & Fibropapillomatosis. The Technical Paper/Literature Review should focus on the interaction of the diseases and the environment as the potential influence on the survivorship of the green sea turtles. The paper will look to literature reviews to see what is known about the green sea turtles in the Pacific & Atlantic regions, their importance of their existence to the ecosystem, explore current conservation efforts and any gaps in research. With this information, the paper should also include recommended or suggested management efforts to assist the increase in the green sea turtle population. I have attached my graduate committee approved proposal, which will outline more on the specifics on this Technical Paper/Literature Review. Some other requirements of this paper include: Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Analysis, & Conclusion; sections need to be labeled within paper. In addition to the paper, Charts, Maps, Figures, Estimates of increase/decrease for each disease, etc is required. I’m not familiar with what information should be included in which section, but this is just an overview of what my proposal entails: (Overview, aims, objectives, methodology, Green Sea Turtle biology, green sea turtle importance on ecosystem, exploring the diseases, relationship between diseases and environment, disease impacts on Green Sea Turtles, impacts of the diseases and the decline of green sea turtles in the Pacific & Atlantic regions, current trends in abundance of sea turtles and the potential disease triggers, research gaps, current conservation efforts, suggested and/or recommended conservation efforts to help increase green sea turtle population). But I do have my detailed proposal attached to this order. My proposal also has some suggested references, if need be. I have also attached a few sample Technical Papers I found on my school website to give an idea of the format of the Technical Paper/Literature Review.
