Exercise/physical activity as it affects your personal health/Nutritional needs

  1. Record your exercise activities for 7 days – preferably the days that you recorded your food intake.
  2. Record the time/duration of the activities
  3. Calculate the estimated energy expenditure for these activities/day
  4. Calculate your energy requirements for the each day – and then average. Be sure to include all the energy needed for metabolic and body maintenance.
  5. Compare your calculated energy needs with the energy recorded from your food diary.
  6. Discuss your findings – are you losing/gaining weight overall? Are you a weekend warrior or do you incorporate adequate exercise throughout your week?  What kinds of activities work for your lifestyle and enjoyment?  How can you make personal fitness a part of your lifestyle?  How do your findings relate to your food diary – explain any discrepancies.

Report should be 7 days of activity diary.  Summary should be approximately one page.  25 points possible.

Goal:  to make you more aware of your actual lifestyle and to determine whether you are getting enough physical activity consistently.
