Cross-cultural analysis: drug control and legislation

Analyse, compare and contrast drug control legislation in The Netherlands with that used in Australia.

In your essay, you might consider the following:
• an overview of Australian drug legislation
• the relative ‘harshness’ of the legislation in the chosen country compared to Australia
• the impact of the drug control legislation on illicit drug use
• the effectiveness of the drug control legislation in the chosen country compared to Australia

be able to explain and analyse the assumptions and practices underlying a range of intervention strategies directed at AOD use/abuse
be able to articulate your understanding clearly and cogently.
