Summary:
The critical literature review assignment intends to assess the ability of the students to articulate key aspects of understanding and applying the concepts of a successful literature review. This will test student’s rational reasoning, knowledge and analytical skill as well as clarity of concepts.

The course learning outcomes, as per the course syllabus, to be assessed in this task are:

Outcome statement (1): Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of applicable research principles and methods.

Outcome statement (2): Appraise and apply the ethical principles and ethical challenges of research. Critically evaluate and present research approaches and methods suited to the topic chosen.

Outcome statement (3): Determine how research methods, techniques and skills can be used to address particular research questions.

Summary:

Essentially, during your presentation using power point file, group will have to answer the following questions and cover the below outcomes:

1. Why the group have selected this topic? What are the research objectives? What is the research question?

2. How your topic is feasible and worthwhile?

3. Demonstrate that topic selection is fulfilling the scientific parameters, i.e. specific, manageable, etc.

4. Formulate link between your topic and theory forming your literature review.

5. Select your critical review approach.

6. Debate different views or opinions related to your topic.

7. Assess the expected strategies and methodologies as per the research onion (next session).

8. Appraise research ethics involved in your research.

9. Demonstrate that you have followed the Gantt chart, research process, research onion required levels and screenshots from EBSCO for the research parameters.

10. Show list of references in APA style.
