Instructions
As a global community, it is important that we have focused on four sometimes vastly different globally affecting wars this term: WWI, WWII, The Cold War, and soon, the War on Terrorism. Some of the participants have been involved with all, some with only one war, but whether directly engaged or on the periphery, the 20th Century (1900-1999) has been the bloodiest in the history of humanity. This week’s reading and videos help us to comprehend how the end of WWII was considered by many as the start of the Cold War that lasted over the next fifty years with extraordinarily few casualties but much higher stakes in terms of weaponry and the space race that was part of the Cold War.
For this week’s Connections writing, pick one nation that participated in at least two of these first three types of global warfare and discuss any changes in their leadership, military, politics, diplomacy, strategy, participation, investments, outcomes, locations, etc. that you find interesting and worthy of writing about.
